I hate having to weigh the morality of a platform over my livelihood, but that’s where we are in 2023. Sucks ass tbh.
I hate this shit. I feel like the communities I’ve curated and followers I’ve been lucky enough to get are falling down around my ears. I wouldn’t have the life I do if not for social media, how fucking sad is that?? I hate that I have to constantly jump site to site, figuring out which is safe versus which has people, weighing my morality against my finances and ability to … yknow… eat???
This whole thing makes me feel dirty. I like to think I’ve earned my following by being genuine and transparent, and by making good art that people enjoy, but now all of that is basically gone and I’m struggling to figure out what I mean any more.

Why? So mark Facebook can steal our medical data? How stupid do you have to be to willingly sign up for an app that got completely rejected in the EU?
I’m doing the best I can in the world we’ve got - unfortunately my job requires me to have a strong social media presence and I’m going where the audience is. Obviously I hate meta and wish I didn’t have to go there, I’d much rather have a social media platform not run by capitalist sociopaths.
